From building cargo units on the warehouse floor to steering outbound cargo processes today — two decades across passenger and cargo operations at the Frankfurt Hub.
My career started in wholesale and foreign trade. For the twenty years since, I’ve worked at Frankfurt Airport across almost every layer of how it runs — the warehouse, check-in and the gate, team and shift leadership, ticketing and premium passenger service, and years coordinating aircraft turnarounds across all ground partners. Today I steer outbound cargo processes at Lufthansa Cargo, from load planning to customs clearance and billing.
Having worked both the passenger and the cargo side, I’ve seen how directly the work on the ground shapes the result — from the ULD to the load plan, from the customs entry to the invoice. I read a process for what it does and what it’s worth at the same time.
What keeps an operation running on time is often the same thing that decides whether a shipment earns or costs money. Sitting on both sides — the handling floor and the figures behind it — I see a process and its value in the same glance. My foundation on the trade side is a wholesale and foreign-trade apprenticeship; the rest I learned where the two actually meet.
My connection to Taiwan goes back to my first visit there in 2007, and has grown into a lasting interest in the wider Asian market. I hold the Taiwan Gold Card, and the Europe–Asia corridor is the part of this industry I find most interesting.
